Bauhaus 1919-1933
The Bauhaus movement, which established a model of modern design through the integration of art and industry, exerted a profound influence on both twentieth-century artistic developments and modern life. This exhibition was held on the occasion of the seventy-fifth anniversary of the founding of the Bauhaus as a school and creative community.
With the cooperation of thirty museums and institutions in Japan and abroad, the exhibition presented approximately 700 works spanning painting, architectural models, furniture, interior design, crafts, textiles, graphic design, and theatre.
Among the works exhibited were Hart in Weich (1927) by Wassily Kandinsky and Arktische Tau(1920) by Paul Klee, both from the collection of the Sezon Museum of Modern Art.
