This work was selected from those exhibited in Yukihisa Isobe’s solo exhibition at Le Credac, Paris, in 1997, to serve as the cartoon for a Gobelins tapestry commissioned by the Gobelins Manufactory in Paris. The resulting tapestry (440 × 300 cm) was woven over a period of nearly four years beginning in 2000 at the Gobelins workshops on Avenue des Gobelins in Paris, and is now housed in the Gobelins collection.In addition, Energy of the City of Paris (1998), which was also exhibited in the Le Credac exhibition, was acquired by the CNAP (Centre National des Arts Plastiques) following a recommendation by the art critic Pierre Restany, who visited the exhibition.
