Since opening in Karuizawa in 1981, the Sezon Museum of Modern Art is celebrating its 45th anniversary this year.

Following a two-year closure, the museum will reopen on Friday, June 26, 2026, embarking on a new chapter with renewed spaces and experiences.

In conjunction with the reopening, we are pleased to announce the complete renewal of our official website.

The redesigned website features an improved layout and navigation for a more comfortable browsing experience. We have also launched an online Collection Catalog and expanded our digital content to connect archival photographs and materials related to Sezon’s cultural activities, allowing visitors to explore the museum’s history as an interconnected story.
