This exhibition marked the first presentation in Tokyo of 100 key works from the collection of Sezon Museum of Modern Art, which relocated from Takanawa to Karuizawa in 1981 and changed its name from The Museum of Modern Art, Seibu Takanawa in 1991.The exhibition was organized into three sections reflecting the principal strengths of the Museum’s collection: European art before and after the Second World War, postwar American art, and postwar Japanese art.In the same year, a new collection catalogue of the Sezon Museum of Modern Art was published.
