This exhibition marked a new departure for the ART TODAY series as its first solo exhibition, featuring Kazumi Nakamura, who had previously participated in ART TODAY 1987: A Slap in the Face of the Society of Taste. Continuing ART TODAY’s longstanding engagement with contemporary artistic practice and its critical examination of art in the postmodern era, the exhibition positioned Nakamura’s work as an ongoing exploration of issues that remain relevant to the present. Building upon the history of the ART TODAY series, the exhibition signaled a new direction for its future development.
