Art Today 1987
A Slap in the Face of Tasteful Public
Toshikatsu Endo, Kenjiro Okazaki, Kazumi Nakamura, Yukihiro Yoshihara
This exhibition was conceived as a counterpart to ART TODAY 1986: The Pathology of Postmodernism, held the previous year. It described the project as an exploration of two aspects of creative activity within the postmodern condition: conscious creation that seeks to overcome the stagnation of knowledge, and unconscious creation arising from indifference toward knowledge, while also examining the confusion and coexistence of these two tendencies.
Among the works presented were The Violet Ore (1986) and Language and Physical Geology (1987) by Kazumi Nakamura, both of which are now in the collection of the Sezon Museum of Modern Art.
