Since opening in Karuizawa in 1981, the Sezon Museum of Modern Art celebrates its 45th anniversary this year.
Following a two-year closure, the museum will reopen on Friday, June 26, marking the beginning of a new chapter in a renewed space.
By placing yourself in an unfamiliar environment and encountering artworks in new ways, you may find yourself freed from fixed ideas and conventional interpretations. Through imagination rather than predetermined answers, new sensations and perspectives may begin to emerge.
Each person’s path, shift in viewpoint, and unexpected discoveries shape the experience differently — where you pass through, what you notice, and why it appears that way. Rather than presenting a single narrative, the exhibition allows each visitor’s experience to create its own story. We invite you to return to your own point of view and quietly witness the miracles that can only be seen from there.
